Do We Have a “Joyful Duty” to Thank God – ALWAYS?

November is a month where we’re encouraged to reflect on our many blessings (and, of course, there ARE many!).

It also has become for a me a time to reflect on the many occasions I’ve hesitated or failed to give thanks (and, of course, there ARE many!).

Seton Magazine asked me to write an article about Thanksgiving, and I was inspired to dig a little deeper in my heart and offer more than the trite articles about preparing for the Thanksgiving feast or how to inspire gratitude in your kids.

This article is the first time I’ve really publicly discussed what was going on in the depths of my heart during the worst time of my family’s life. The aftershock of my neighbor’s house fire has continued to impact my family even several years after the flames were extinguished and the charred remains demolished.

God is good. I promise, He is. And this year, if you’re finding it particularly hard to give thanks, I am not here to judge you. Please let me know how I can pray for you, either in the comments, or shoot me an email at debbie@tiredcatholicparents.com.

God be with you, fellow tired parent!
